After this solution was implemented, the emails that had accumulated over the past few years were extracted from the PST files and migrated to a central email archive to permanently reduce reliance on this type of file. Depending on the user group, predefined deletion rules removed previously archived emails from the server after 60 to 120 days (with the option to recover them). Mailbox quotas can thus be eliminated, and backup and restore processes optimized.
Strategic approach
However, the airport has revised its strategic approach and is now focusing on data logging. To prevent data loss and ensure compliance with legal requirements governing the availability and security of the company’s key data—whether for incoming or outgoing emails—these messages are now archived on the server.
