SolarWinds to Showcase Performance Optimization Technology for MySQL at Percona Live Open Source Database Conference 2017
Attendees Invited to Join an Interactive Session with SolarWinds Database Performance Evangelist on Performance Optimization
SolarWinds, a leading provider of powerful and affordable IT management software, today announced its participation at Percona® Live Open Source Database Conference, April 24-27, 2017, in Santa Clara, California. At the event, SolarWinds database performance evangelist and Oracle® ACE, Janis Griffin, will present on best practices for performance tuning MySQL® on Thursday, April 27, from 1:50-2:40 p.m. PDT.
“Our research shows that databases are one of the top three infrastructure elements IT organizations are migrating to the cloud. While virtualized environments offer many benefits, they also introduce challenges for database professionals as they have less visibility into virtualization configuration and how it impacts performance,” said Janis Griffin, database performance evangelist, SolarWinds. “I’m looking forward to sharing my expertise with the Percona community through my session on MySQL Query tuning where I’ll be providing advice for optimization and tuning to accelerate database performance.”

At the event, the company will showcase SolarWinds® Database Performance Analyzer (DPA), which now provides added support for Microsoft® Azure® SQL and AWS Aurora™ RDS databases. Product experts will also be available to offer demonstrations of SolarWinds DPA for MySQL and show off functionalities, including:
- Agentless architecture in MySQL development, test, staging, and production environments, providing information of where the bottlenecks are and enhancing collaboration
- Wait-time analytics and Multi-Dimensional Performance Analysis™, to help identify the root cause of complex problems and improves the performance of on-premises, virtualized, cloud, or hybrid IT application environments
- Availability on the Azure Marketplace, thousands of organizations running millions of Azure SQL Database instances can now benefit from these capabilities with simplified deployment typically in minutes
Join "Does your performance tuning need a 12-step program?"
With over 25 years of database administration experience, including design, development, and implementation, Griffin will share her secrets for determining the best approach for tuning queries on Thursday, April 27, from 1:50-2:40 p.m. PDT at Room 209. Attendees will learn how to:
- Quickly recognize bottlenecks and get clues on the best tuning approach
- Use SQL diagramming techniques to find the best execution plan
- Identify inefficient operations through review of query execution plans
