Retrospect 15.5

Retrospect Inc. has released Retrospect 15.5, introducing an optional subscription licensing model, providing beta access to the business-oriented Retrospect Management Console, and adding support for macOS 10.13 High Sierra.

The new Retrospect Management Console is designed to help businesses to monitor their backup infrastructure via a hosted service, enabling IT admins to monitor dozens of backup engines with a single interface. This service is offered as a public beta and currently available at no cost.

The company plans to offer an optional subscription model for Retrospect Solo and Desktop later this month. The subscription will include support and all product updates while it’s active; inactive subscriptions will be able to restore but not make backups.

Retrospect 15.5 also introduces a Storage Groups feature that enables you to run parallel backups to the same disk or cloud destination, offers Email Global Deduplication that backs up each email message only once (even if it was sent to a list), and adds support for other systems including Microsoft Windows Server 2019.
